Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window
A jet carrying the US defense secretary was required to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which verified that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft landed in accordance with established safety measures and all passengers, such as Pete Hegseth, is safe," an official representative commented in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This occurrence does not mark the first time that a American defense plane carrying a high-ranking official has experienced mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to turn back to the US capital after encountering a technical issue.
